The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-075 is an Ultra 200 Servo Drive. This drive is one of the early Servo Drive products of Allen-Bradley. It is a microprocessor-based servo drive with built-in capabilities of managing drive current, velocity and position. The Ultra 200 Servo drive, such as the 1398-DDM-075 is compatible for use with brushless servo motors.

In particular, the 1398-DDM-075 features an AC input voltage requirement of 100-240VAC rms, 1-phase or 3-Phase and input frequency of 47-63 Hz. It also has an auxiliary input which is supply voltage isolation to the main AC input circuit. The auxiliary AC input is rated 100-240VAC, 1-Phase with frequency of 47-63 Hz and current of 1.0 Amperes at 100VAC and 0.5 Amperes at 240VAC input.

This drive has peak output current of 50 Amperes for 1-phase input and 75 Amperes for 3-phase supply while the Continuous Output Current are 15 Amperes for 1-phase and 35 Amperes for 3-phase operation. The Peak Power Output is 14 kW for 1-phase and 20 kW for 3-Phase while the Continuous Power Output is 7.5 kW at 3-phase operation.

The drive’s bus voltage is 141-339 VDC with Bus Capacitance Energy Absorption of 152 Joules and bus capacitance of 4290 µF. It has a power dissipation 300 Watts.

The 1398-DDM-075 has Five (5) user configurable 24 Volt, current sinking, optically isolated, active high inputs.; One (1) fixed assignment control (ENABLE), current sinking, optically isolated, active high input.; Four (4) assignable, 24 Volt, current sourcing, optically isolated, active high outputs and Two dedicated (BRAKE and DRIVE READY), normally open relay outputs. The embedded analog I/O channel is Two dedicated 10 bit, 0 – 10 Volt, analog inputs (+I LIMIT and -I LIMIT) and Two selectable, ±10 Volt analog outputs, one 12-bit and one 8-bit (ANALOG1 and ANALOG2).

The 1398-DDM-075 module also features an analog output with a resolution of 8 bits and 12 bits. The analog input voltage ranges from 0-10 volts. The analog input uses 10-bit resolution. The 1398-DDM-075 has an integral supply and a shunt regulator, and it uses microcontrollers to manage a machine’s position, velocity, and current. The 1398-DDM-075 Servo Drive has great functionality and requires minimal maintenance. When maintenance is needed, the standard procedure is to check the whether the cable insulation and the connections are still good. The recommended moisture limit between 5 and 95%, the same as the other ULTRA 200 drives. The weight of the 1398-DDM-075 is 21.32 lbs. The peak output current for single-phase power and the peak output current for 3-phase power are 50A and 75A, respectively. The input frequency is 47-63 Hz. When operating the 1398-DDM-075 ULTRA 200 servo drive with single-phase power, the current limit must be set properly to avoid damage to the module.

    Product Description:
Mark VI General Electric module IS200VCRCH1BBB is a Discrete Input/Output Terminal Processor Board. The VCRC model is functionally the same as the VCCC model, but this unit is a single-slot version, while the VCCC model is a dual-slot model with a daughterboard. When the VCRC model is mounted in the Mark VI cabinet, it takes up less space as there is no daughterboard. This model has forty-eight inputs labeled as contact inputs that come from the TBCI model, and the outputs, of which there are twenty-four, come from the TRLY board; twelve of the outputs are solenoid outputs; the remaining twelve are dry contact relay outputs.

One of the main differences between the IS200VCRCH1BBB model and the VCCC model is the location of the connectors for the contact inputs boards for the VCRC model; the connectors are located on the front of the model and labeled J33 and J44 on the front faceplate of the model. There are also three status LEDs available on the front faceplate of this model. The LEDs are labeled RUN, FAIL, and STATUS with their own corresponding color. The FAIL LED is solid red, the RUN LED will flash green, and the STATUS LED is normally off but will be a steady orange when a diagnostic alarm condition occurs.

The IS200VCRCH1BBB model can be used in triple modular redundant (TMR) or simplex applications. When the model is in a TMR application, the contact input voltages will be fanned out to three VME board racks, such as the R, S, and T racks, through the JR1, JS1, and JT1 plugs on the VCRC board.
