3BHB013088R0001 is a ABB IGCT Module，The IGCT combines all the important innovations needed for future power electronics applications and will become thekey component for future medium- tohigh-voltage applications in the range from0.5 MVA to several 100 MVA. It inherentlyenables simple and robust series connection of turn-off devices for high-powerapplications. The additional advantagesof the IGCT over other turn-off devices(eg, low cost, low complexity and highefficiency) means that it has no realcompetition in this power range. The IGCTis available today from several manufacturers of high-power semiconductors.The IGCT has also demonstrated highreliability in its first 100-MVA intertie application at Bremen. A second intertie,based on the same technology and ratedat 2×66 MVA, has been ordered byGerman Railway (DB) on the basis ofthe excellent experience with this installation.
